Description
Propolis Cream is a natural moisturising cream containing the natural goodness of Propolis, Vitamin E, Elastin and Collagen. This easily absorbed, light-weight cream is ideal for the face, hands and body.
Propolis Cream is suitable for everyday use.
Propolis Cream is ideal for ageing skin as it contains Elastin and Collagen which are known for their assistance in replenishing moisture and restoring elasticity to mature skin.
Propolis is a natural resinous substance generally referred to as ‘bee glue’. Bees collect resin from the bark and buds of the trees and process it by mixing wax, pollen, salivary secretions and collected natural resins to form Propolis. The bees utilise this dark sticky substance to fill up any cracks and smoothing of the inner layer of the hive. This process is to seal and protect the hive from infection, fungal growth and bacteria. The bees also smear Propolis around the entrance of their hive to strengthen the hive and protect from intruders. Propolis is a complex natural substance that contains phytochemicals, flavonoids, organic acids, vitamins and minerals. It contains flavonoids and is made up of resin & balsam 50%, wax 30% essentials oils 10%, pollen 5% and organic matter 5%. Flavonoids are one of the main groups of phenolic compounds in Propolis. This flavonoid concentration affects the bioactivity of Propolis.
Vitamin E (alpha-tocopherol) is an important nutrient for skin and has antioxidant properties and may protect cells against the effects of free radicals.
Collagen is a fibrous protein found in our bones, tendons, ligaments, muscles, and skin. Our bodies produce its own collagen and as we age our bodies produce less and less, which leads to dry and wrinkled skin. Collagen plays a role in strengthening and hydrating skin.
Elastin is a fibrous protein found in our connective tissue. Elastin assists in skin elasticity by allowing it to resume its shape after stretching.
Warning: Propolis may cause allergic reactions. If irritation/swelling occurs, immediately discontinue use. If symptoms persist consult your healthcare practitioner.
