Description
Moogoo use natural ingredients combined with ingredients to control the micro-flora of the scalp that can cause scalp problems for many adults and children.
This was first made for a family member who had a scalp so itchy they went to bed with olive oil and cling wrap around their head. It took 6 months of trialling until we banished the cling wrap to the kitchen for good. Our Scalp Friendly Milk Shampoo has now become one of our most popular products. Read our 'We got mail" page to see how much it has helped people with scalp problems. We use natural ingredients combined with ingredients to control the micro-flora of the scalp that can cause scalp problems for many adults and children. pH balanced. Natural Cleansers.
Benefits
- Aqua (H2O's Fancy Name): When we were told that we have to call our purified water “Aqua” we thought they were kidding. But we can’t fight bureaucracy. So we aren’t trying to be fancy, but we do need to call our water “Aqua” sometimes.
- Cocamidopropyl Betaine (Coconut-Derived Cleanser): Is a Glucoside. Glucosides are cleansers derived from mixing glucose with a fatty alcohol. They are generally acknowledged as the most gentle cleansers available. The downsides of glucosides are they do not foam well and there are other problems that make them difficult to formulate. However, for our own scalp we didn’t really care about the foam, we simply wanted the most gentle cleanser we could find.
- Decyl Glucoside (Glucose-Derived Cleanser): Glucosides are cleansers derived from mixing glucose with a fatty alcohol. They are generally acknowledged as the most gentle cleansers available. The downsides of glucosides are they do not foam well and there are other problems that make them difficult to formulate. However, for our own scalp we didn’t really care about the foam, we simply wanted the most gentle cleanser we could find.
- Lauryl Glucoside (Glucose-Derived Cleanser): Glucosides are cleansers derived from mixing glucose with a fatty alcohol. They are generally acknowledged as the most gentle cleansers available. The downsides of glucosides are they do not foam well and there are other problems that make them difficult to formulate. However, for our own scalp we didn’t really care about the foam, we simply wanted the most gentle cleanser we could find.
- Glycol Distearate (Emollient): Derived from Glycerin, these help condition and smooth the skin after washing.
- Sodium Cocoyl Sarcosinate (Coconut-Derived Cleanser): This is a coconut derived cleanser which chose because it is very good at cleaning the oil from hair while not irritating the skin on the scalp. It has a couple of other benefits too; including being from renewable sources and also has a reputation for leaving the hair silky smooth due to the fact that is an amino acid based cleanser.

- Glyceryl Oleate (Natural Ester): Derived from Glycerin, this helps condition the skin and scalp.
- Piroctone Olamine (Olamine Salt): Piroctone Olamine is an anti-yeast ingredient. Non-irritating, it helps keep the cream free from bacteria and mould.
- Fragrance - Oatmeal (Phthalate-Free): We used to use various Essential Oils in our Milky Shampoo, Conditioner and Milk Wash. EO’s are great if we could talk to each customer and check for allergies. Due to the occasional reaction to EO’s, we removed them. We want to sooth people scalps and even a very small number of reactions to EO’s was distressing for us. But people still want their hair to smell nice. So we worked with another company to develop phthalate free fragrant oil (phthalates are the things in fragrances that a lot of people don’t like) and since then the response has been great.
- Allantoin (Comfrey Root Extract): Comfrey Root has long been known as a calming plant. Allantoin was identified as the part of the plant that performed this function and it has since been synthesised to make it more concentrated and effective. So the allantoin we use is the pure ingredient. It is said to clean away dead tissue, allowing the growth of new healthy tissue. Allantoin has been also termed a counter irritant. It helps the skin to help itself. It is also promoted as preventing lines and wrinkles by assisting skin repair. It is also promoted as preventing lines and wrinkles by assisting in skin repair.
- Hydrolysed Milk Protein (For Hair Repair): Amino Acids can help the hair to feel smoother and softer. We use hydrolysed milk protein as a cow friendly source of Amino Acid. For people with Lactose intolerance this is no problem. However for people that are allergic to Milk Protein itself, this ingredient would not be suitable. If in doubt, all natural products should be patch tested before use.
