Psyllium seeds are traditionally used in Ayurvedic and Chinese herbal medicine to aid in the management of mild constipation. The seeds are generally considered to be a lubricating laxative. The main component of the mucilage of the seed is a large, highly branched polysaccharide. Ensure to drink plenty of water and increase fibre in the diet.
